Obtain A Degree In Criminal Justice

 
If you are interested in a career in criminal justice, there are many ways to obtain a degree in criminal justice that can be completed entirely at home. Some Bachelor degree programs in criminal justice can be completed in fifteen months. The pre requisite for these programs is that you already hold an Associate degree from another institution. These degrees are a great option for people working in the criminal justice field, as work schedules can be unpredictable.

Some online universities offer credits for state law enforcement training. Speak to an admissions counselor about specific state training you may have received. You will need to show evidence of satisfactory completion of this training. How many credits you will be given will depend upon the amount of training received. Some colleges have a cap on the number of credits that can be awarded for training. This figure is usually between twenty four and thirty credits maximum to obtain a degree in criminal justice.

Bachelor degrees are offered online in criminal justice administration. With this degree, you can work in positions such as law enforcement systems administration, law enforcement supervisor, security manager and legal office manager positions. Course work in these programs consists of classes on management, communication, planning and budget issues in criminal justice. Many jobs can be found in both the public and private sector with a Bachelor degree in criminal justice administration.

Bachelor degrees are offered in the security and corrections administration fields as well. If you obtain a degree in criminal justice in corrections administration, you will be qualified for positions in the corrections field such as corrections supervisor, correctional executive or warden of a prison. Security degrees are offered at the Bachelor and Masters level. These programs prepare students to take positions in the security management field. This is a fast growing field with demand from businesses and homeowners.
